Biography
Scot P. Somes, LAc., Dipl. Ac., MSTCM, MBA
Scot Somes earned his Master of Science in Traditional
Chinese Medicine degree from the Colorado School of
Traditional Chinese Medicine. This three-year program
consists of 2850 hours of education including over 1000
hours of clinical internship. He was certified as a
Diplomate in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese
Medicine by the National Certification Commission for
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This
includes certification in Clean Needle Technique.
Scot’s training includes adjunctive therapies such as Chinese herbs, moxibustion, tui
na, cupping, auricular therapy, TCM Sports Medicine, TCM dietary and lifestyle
recommendations, GUNA Homeopathics for Pain Management, and Injection Therapy
for Facial Rejuvination to name a few.

Scot was the Clinic Director at the Colorado School of Traditional
Chinese Medicine.  
He supervised over 50 interns and 20 supervisors for the clinic and was responsible
for OSHA and HIPAA requirements and training.

Scot is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and the American
Association of Oriental Medicine. He is a licensed acupuncturist in Colorado.

Additionally, Scot earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of
Denver in August, 1998 and his Bachelors of Science in Engineering from the United
States Naval Academy in May, 1990.  He currently serves as a Commander in the US
Navy Reserves.

This clinic complies with the rules and regulations promulgated by the Colorado
Department of Health. Only single-use, disposable, factory-sterilized needles are
utilized.

Stephanie A. Somes,
LAc., Dipl. Ac., MSTCM, MSPT, A.T.C.
Stephanie Somes earned her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from the
Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  The Master of Science in TCM is a three year,
2850 hour training in Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.  This included over 1000 hours of
clinical internship.  She has passed the Acupuncture National Board Examinations given by the
National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).   This includes
Clean Needle Technique.  She is licensed to practice Acupuncture (LAc) and Physical Therapy in
the state of Colorado and is a registered Athletic Trainer in Colorado.

In addition, Stephanie’s training includes adjunctive therapies such as Chinese herbs, moxibustion,
tui na, cupping, auricular therapy, TCM Sports Medicine, TCM dietary and lifestyle
recommendations, and various Physical Therapy techniques.   She earned her Master of Science in
Physical Therapy degree from the University of Indianapolis and a Bachelor of Science in Sports
and Exercise Sciences from the University of Puget Sound.  She has been working for the past 12
years at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine and also contributes as a Certified Athletic Trainer
to sports teams throughout Colorado.  She worked with a semi-professional women’s soccer team as
the Head Athletic Trainer from 2002-2005.
